Man City fans hail 24-year-old's 'under-the-radar' heroics against Arsenal

number of Manchester City fans have praised Gabriel Jesus for his efforts against Arsenal today.

Pep Guardiola’s charges humiliated the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium, running out 5-0 winners.

City were two up against Mikel Arteta’s beleaguered side by the quarter-hour mark and three up by half-time.

Ilkay Gundogan and Ferran Torres capitalised on slack defending to score early on.

Granit Xhaka was then sent off in the 35th minute for a two-footed lunge on Joao Cancelo.

And Jesus added a third for the hosts just before half time to end the match as a contest.

Rodri netted City’s fourth in the 53rd minute and Torres got his second of the match with six minutes left.

While most of City’s players were superb on the day – Torres in particular – plenty of fans were especially happy with Jesus.

Guardiola gave the 24-year-old his second start in a row – once again on the right of attack.

And once again, Jesus was impressive, setting up Ilkay Gundogan for City’s opener and finishing off Jack Grealish’s cut-back for the third.

The Brazilian’s time at the Etihad has been pretty mixed so far but he could well become a key player for Guardiola this season.
